January 15th, 2015: “Thank Your Mentor” Day!

We at Tabor Mentoring Program have had over 60 matches in the few years we have been active, and can’t wait to help foster more meaningful mentoring relationships. For “Thank Your Mentor” Day, I contacted some of our mentees and asked them what they would like to thank their mentors for. Their responses made me tear up! Here’s what they said:

  • “Thank you for encouraging me to do better and never give up on life; it’s too important to not try.”
  • “Michele gives me good advice about different decisions I should make. Michele is also there for me when I’m confused or lost about something. She keeps me on the right path. She is always a positive person and hopes for the best for any situation. Michele teaches me about certain people in my life! She pushes me to do better and she believes I can do anything I put my mind to…she is open-minded and always there to listen.”
  • “I’d say that he’s a funny, nerdy, outgoing, kind, young man with a big heart.”

Also, to show our appreciation, we celebrated National Mentoring Month with a Mentor Appreciation Dinner! Here’s a (dimly lit) shot from the dinner. We are so fortunate to have such a great group of mentors!
